I saw a youtube video from gameloredash about using "Belzebub". I can't help wondering if I should try setting up "DevilutionX" source port in Diablo. I may configure it but seeing what Belzebub can do. I was wondering if DevilutionX supports Belzebub or are they entirely 2 different things for Diablo to run?

Diablo doesn't really have good mod support, most are replacements for the main game application. As such it is not possible to combine Belzebub with DevilutionX, but someone dedicated could potentially implement all the features of Belzebub in DevilutionX.

Ok, I guess that would make sense. What would you prefer, Belzebub or DevilutionX?

I think they're both worth playing, depending on what you're looking for.

DevilutionX stays very close to the original game, especially if you disable all it's optional quality-of-life features. It's main goal is to update classic Diablo to be more compatible with modern systems. It does not introduce any new content and it is very conservative in introducing new features.

Belzebub does deviate from the original game by introducing a crafting system, a few new NPCs, a few new spells, restores cut content (including quests and side-levels) and introduces many other new features.

DevilutionX is more of a "remaster" while Belzebub is more of a "remake".

thanks, I think I will configure DevilutionX. I like the current way Diablo is set up. I may switch to Belzebub if I want to try something new in Diablo 1.
