I just finished playing Diablo and encountered some bugs while playing, but nothing game breaking. As I was finishing the game I happened to notice the version I was playing was 1.00. I don't know how I missed this fact for so long while playing, but I did. I was sure I had updated the 1.00 CD version I was playing with to 1.08 but I guess I forgot.

Anyway, I encountered the bug where you can't consume the Spectral Elixir (or any other stat improving elixirs) if you don't consume them right away. So I decided to update the game to 1.08 and see if it changed anything. After updating I was able to drink the elixir but it didn't raise any of my stats or disappear from my inventory. I know being unable to drink the elixir is a common bug, but I could not find anything about being able to drink the elixir and still not getting the stat increase.

Has anyone else had this happen?

why 1.08 and not 1.09?

Any way the bug isn't fix there but we fixed it in DevilutionX: https://github.com/diasurgical/devilutionX/releases/latest

Not to mention it has native Linux support.

It's been quite a while since I last played Diablo. I'm not sure why I have the 1.08 patch instead of 1.09, but it sounds like there isn't much difference.

I have been meaning to try DevilutionX. Thanks for the response.
