Hi guys.

GoG has started a new campaign for preserving games. From what i understand they are releasing new builds that are in some way better than the old ones...
Like a month ago i've downloaded Diablo + Hellfire build thats named (30038) and yesterday i've downloaded a new one but its name is (30037) so my question is, did GoG made a mistake and released again the older build or do i dont understand something?

I would like to ask you what you think about all this. Should i download this version because its better more new etc.?

If its some kind of mistake then i hope it will be fixed soon. The other problem is that now im not really sure if i should try to download the so called better and new builds from this new GoG campaign to preserve games because these builds can be worse than the ones i have.

Also i've noticed that often the builds downloaded from the site are different than those from GoG Galaxy. For example Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteouse on GoG Galaxy was in version H or something while the one on the site was in version i. Another example was from Metro Exodus where the Next Gen version had invalid dlc's while its original version had working ones.

Thanks for help in advance!
Ran a diff'ing program on both, only difference is a GOG EULA change, game files are identical.
based on name it is setup structure update, not a game build. and no Galaxy upate.
GOG can use the same build, or as here the older. It can be rollback or not. It can be the real update. With newer files even.
But more likely just newer installer and install script/pre set compatibities. to be 100% sure it is not rollback - Total Commander directories comparison (uncheck date comparison cause it will be dates stored on NTFS local file system)

setup itself have newer date from November of 2024 month.

I see... Do you think that there is any sense in downloading a new version if the differences are so small?

Semms vidated/verified compatibility with Win10 from recent changelog mean no real update. No point to redownload and reinstall already installed game. There is also small patch, whatever it do.

New patch is broke shift + left key function in game. You can't swing your weapons staying in one place anymore. Hope this will be fixed some time.

Wow... I didnt know... Thanks for the info. So there are some problems. Knowing that i will wait with downloading of these new versions of old games. I was afraid that something like that hapen.. Because GoG is updating all the new games now there are more potential bugs in new releases of these old games.
thats the default for whole software. new updates are new bugs, not mandatory mean fixes. stable old builds what is by default prefered versions. modern standards are changed by consoles, smartphones and pc digital distribution.

it is about second upate release two days ago. seems more major update according to changelog.
In case you are using DevilutionX you won't be affected by this bug as it's not using the GOG wrapper

But... I prefer vanilla version. And I just downgraded to V2 patch to normal play.

If for someone the port is the only option for a comfortable game - then it is an option.
Exactly :)
