CymTyr: There is an unofficial post floating somewhere out there where a dev was discussing additional expacs, acts, balance tuning etc if D2R is successful. :) I'm pretty stoked because it's been so successful there is now a queue to log into the game.

CFM: Sweet! That would be awesome. Hopefully them dudes over at Blizzard are thinking that perhaps D4 should be like D2.

Quick question:
In D2R, how characters can be created and stored with one account?
I have 10 characters and can still make more. And yes, half of them are mules, lol.

Vaccinated76: You mean your Blizzard account?
I currently have five characters running. That's SP.
Evidently MP is all fucked to hell, so I don't know about that.
I should've been clearer. When you purchase D2R from Blizzard for $39.99, I'm guessing you can have only have so many multi-player characters saved on their servers, before you'd have to spend another $39.99 to have more multi-player characters. I was curious as to what that limit was, if any.

Like CymTyr, I too plan on having mules!

I'm also remembering that in the old D2, you had to load a multi-player character once every three months or it would be deleted from their servers. I'm curious if that too is the case for D2R?

The game is EXACTLY as advertised.
Blizzard made it very clear they were only remastering the look of the game, nothing else, save for a few minor tweeks, like auto gold pickup.

I for one am very happy about that.
You don't screw with perfection.

Actually it's not, there's a lot of new bugs that weren't in the original ;)

You didn't answer how we could mod the appearance of the Paladin.

Auto gold pickup takes away the feeling of picking up mounds of gold tediously. Each click felt coins being picked up. Autopickup makes it seem like sonic the hedgehog game.

I dig your Sonic the Hedgehog reference lol. Isn't there a setting for auto-gold-pickup that can be turned on/off? I personally wouldn't use auto-gold-pickup, because I too wouldn't want my beloved D2 character to feel like Sonic.

Pretty sure Grotok's link to honest game trailers is not contesting what they released or promised.

Personally, I find it funny that people are paying for the same game they already bought years ago sans "minor new features" which were already available through mods for years. The new graphics are nice, but they won't keep you glued to the game, especially if you already spent years playing the game like many players did. Imho, for anyone who owns the original, it's not worth the price tag. But you know what would be worth the price tag? Crossplay with consoles. But since that isn't a thing, any non-purist playing online is sacrificing loads of improvements to the gameplay available through the modded private servers like Project Diablo 2, Median XL and others.

At least when compared to W3R release, they did it the right way - they did what they promised and didn't fck up the original.

Same. To each his own, but for me, the remaster is exactly what I wanted.
I'm finding myself spending a little too much time in the game. I want to get back to Encased and some of my other games, but D2R just scratches an itch that hasn't been scratched in some time.

I suppose as long as I'm having fun it's ok, it's just a little surprising to me that I'm spending as much time with it as I am.

what is messed up for me is that I only play SP.

i hear from other people who play nonstop, but it's to farm, making boss runs, getting characters up to level 90. I stop when I finish LOD, start with a new character. I don't know if I've ever gotten a character past lvl 35.

That gives you more options when it comes to character builds. A fire based build is feasible in normal, but not hell. Thorns/iron maiden is also a little more handy in normal.

Nothing wrong with that. There's a million ways to game :)
