Hey All.

I purchased Diablo Hellfire from GOG and the game runs and plays perfect until there is a loading screen. (going down to the next level or entering a town portal). then the game crashes to windows and brings up an error message "unable to open save game". I have reinstalled the game multiple times and looked on many forums but i can't find a fix.

Please help. I used to love this game when i was a kid, and would enjoy playing it again.

One week ago, June 18th, Dazie45 posted with the same reported symptoms. A DevilutionX developer invited Dazie45 to provide useful debugging data for further investigation. As of my post, Dazie45 has not provided the requested data. However, if you provide similar data, you might get help.

But do you know where i could find this data? and also I'm not sure who DevilutionX is

You save games are in the install folder, for hellfire it's .hsv and for diablo it's .sv

DevilutionX is a project that fixes bugs and adds QoL for Diablo and Hellfire.
