There is no works that GOG host this - why you think that? All info on game and support pages say that Blizzard operate Global Bnet. Also, i contact GOG few times after Warcraft release and they say same words - GOG do not operate Bnet and if anyone have questions about network play - contact Blizzard.

if someone still miss that, I remind that all entries about the game Diablo\Warcraft from the registry can be removed (as for any game ofc). Removing Diablo\Warcraft from "HKCU\Software\Bnet" will reset "gateways"... to old ones. Cause game can gain info from Bnet after first connection (same as bnet cache file to game folder).

Blizzard claims my account has some restrictions now for a couple days. I logged in from multiple different IP addresses just now, and sill the game says CHECKING VERSIONS and fails. This is just like the dozens of people complaining on the GOG site. Blizzard takes no responsibility or effort to fix ANYTHING.

You're connected to the server, and you'll stay there forever because version checking doesn't complete, so you can't make forward progress. Hence, connect-forever seems appropriate.

In Wc2 that being normal some time after GOG-release. There is 1-2 ppl who connect to Global. Maybe someone play on old servers? Im too lazy to restore my old account. Most players use war2ru server.
