Hey everyone, I got this *little* problem with Dex, namely I can't get the game to launch, either on Vista 32-bit or Win XP SP3. After clicking the icon the cursor goes busy for a second or two and then nothing happens. What's funnier is that even the gamepad config tool doesn't start.

Any ideas on how to launch the game? Or are older builds of the game available somewhere so that I can give them a shot?

If you have the same issues as me take a look at my post.

You can also take a look in the log file Dex_Data\output_log.txt.

Thanks for the reply, unfortunately I do not use GOG Galaxy (apparently it does not work on Vista anymore).

Hello,

The game seems to use DirectX 11 by default. For me, it is the origin of the issue.
My game crash very quickly when it tries to create a graphic device context.

As the gamecard mentions DirectX 9 for minimal spec, I tried to make the game use DX9.

I discovered that when you delete (or rename) two files, DEX defaults to DirectX 9 and works like a charm, for me (same behavior for GamepadConfigTool.exe).

Within the game's directory, rename or delete these two files: "d3d11.dll" and "dxgi.dll"

Thanks for the tip! It will take me a lot of time before I get around to trying this solution out(got better things to do than playing Dex, haha), but I'll definitely give it a shot.
