So many years i avoided this game, and finally bought it here.

And i'm having really hard time at the beginning - im getting punded by those terrorist next to the statue.

I don't want to go on killing spree - as people say that silent aproach is much more fun. So what am i missing? Is moving unseen is that hard, or am I just being a noob spoiled with linear CoD approach?:)

If you're approaching this with the same mindset as a Call of Duty game, that is definitely one of your problems. Every map in Deus Ex lends itself to being done in different ways.

For the nonlethal approach, you may want to put some points into Weapons: Low-Tech early on, to increase the effectiveness of the Riot Baton. Enemy hitboxes with relation to the Baton are weird; a hit to the head is supposed to deal 8x damage, but it doesn't always work like that. A center-of-the-back hit is often enough to KO someone, though, even at Untrained.

I would also suggest having the Riot Prod handy; a hit to the back will almost always KO someone, and if it doesn't (or if you want to hit them in the front) it will stun them, so you can try to KO them with the Baton to save ammo.

Last, the mini-crossbow will be invaluable for a non-lethal run; any standard human enemy will go down eventually after one tranquilizer dart.

Also, Deus Ex's golden rules of stealth.
* Know the enemy patrol routes, so you know when you'll have time to sneak up on them.
* Stay behind cover whenever you can.
* Walk slowly or crouch-walk, and they won't hear you.
