Hi,
I'm currently doing my first playthrough of this game, and I was wondering what happens if you kill Lebedev in the 747? This time I let him live and shot Navarre, as a result I left Unatco and joined NSF, but what if I hadn't? I had a backup save in the 747, sadly I lost this file...

Is it possible to side with UNATCO, MJ12, Simons, etc... In short, can you play as a bad guy, serving the global conspiration instead of fighting it? Since this game is so full of meaningful choices, maybe even this was possible, although it seems unlikely.
Right now I'm further in the game, on the mission to sabotage the superfreighter, so please, no spoilers past that point.

Sadly, you can't join UNATCO. It kinda railroads you into joining the NSA. And by kinda I mean, 'holy shit, all these rails are exactly the same!'

Ok. It's true the game is full of choices, but they seem like minor decisions: letting this or that character live, giving this guy money or robbing him... The game gives great freedom to accomplish your objectives, and I appreciate it a lot, but the main story is actually pretty linear, when you think about it. Thanks for your answer!

This was my biggest gripe with the game. After all the open-world play-your-way setup leading to the showdown at Paul's apartment, I was really disappointed that I couldn't become a villain and stay with The Man. All the choices I'd made up to that point became meaningless.

Granted, I realise that the entire story is about the discovery and unravelling of an evil conspiracy so that one guy can live forever (I wonder if the Orphan Black writers ever played Deus Ex...), so it's hard to see any way to avoid getting railroaded into being a good guy. But it still rankled.
