I got close to completing this game a few years ago (about 80% of the way through I think) before my previous PC died, and I loved it. What I want is to play it again without any radical changes to the original gameplay (so I don't think, from what I've heard about it, that I want to use Shifter or BioMod yet). I'm a bit worried about using "kentie's launcher", as I've heard that there is a bug in it which crashes the game and I'm not confident that I understand how to get round this, even though 've read the solution, because when people explain stuff it's like translating Greek into Chinese : it still doesn't make any sense to me !
I still would love to see what the game looks like with the New Vision mod installed, though, and I'd like to be able to choose a higher resolution (my monitor is 16:9 and has a native resolution of 1920 * 1080) but without using kentie's launcher, because of the bug. I'm not interested in any of the mods which radically alter the gameplay because, as I said, I haven't completed the game yet. And perhaps I would like some bug fixes too. So which mods should I install, and in what order ? And how should I install them ? Is it as easy as extracting the files into the game directory, or do you need to jump through loads of hoops ?
Despite the fact that I haven't completed this game I rate it VERY highly in my "pantheon" of all time greats, even though it is not strictly speaking from my "preferred genre" (RPG), but then this game is hard to categorise. It has such a thoughtful storyline and I like the feeling of the game.
