So I own DX1 on both Steam and GOG, but I noticed a bug that the Steam version doesn't have; When you initially start a new game, Bob Page's line of "Your appointment to FEMA..." doesn't play, only when Simons begins does it play normally. I have discovered that it works just fine though if you start a new game, once in a game.

A minor issue I know. It's just an inconvenience, and I was wondering if y'all knew if there was a fix for it.

After patching the Steam version it is DRM-free as well and does not need the client anymore. Whenever I start the Steam version without the client though the line you mentioned is missing - not when I use the client ... that's very sztrange and I was actually hoping the issue would be absent in the GOG version.
Try enabling VSync: in `system/deusex.ini`, set `UseVSync=True` (default is False) in the section `D3DDrv.D3DRenderDevice`.

If it doesn’t work, another thing to try would be to switch to the OpenGL renderer.

Will try this. Thank you for your help so far.
