So i just installed the new Mod for Deus ex to give it a try.

Turns out it completely ignores Window's settings for mouse button flip. The GOTY did not do this.
anyone knows how to change that? Any devs around? WTH did you do (i suppose it's a side effect of fixing the mouse speed, so i'm great you did something with the mouse but heck, give us lefties some consideration)?

What does it do wrong exactly?
What i said, ignores mouse button flip.

so i use the windows setting to change left and right mouse button. Games that use window's setting will usually accept this (like the GOTY). The ingame menu will still say left and right button, when things for me are now Right and left button, and everything is fine.

in DX Revision however, left button is always left button, and right button alway right button even though on the desktop it is changed. I could go into the game's menu und change the button assignments for the two mouse buttons, but that still doesn't flip which button registers for menu presses.

it may sound confusing, but here's what you can do to test:
in the windows mouse settings, check the box to switch primary and secondary key.
run DX GOTY, see how all button actions including menu control are automatically flipped, without any manual assignments needed.
Now run Revision, see how not a single mouse button action is flipped and it's all back to right handed assignment. change mouse assignments in Revision's Keyboard and Mouse menu. See how now most things work except anything related to menus, which still remains on the right hand users index finger side.

Hi!

At first glance it looks like there are a couple different under-the-hood reasons why Revision does this, but right now something you can try to get back the old functionality would be a quick configuration file tweak.

Make sure Revision is closed, then in Deus Ex GOTY\Revision\System, find Revision.ini. Open the file, and find ViewportManager=WinDrvLite.WindowsClientLite. Change that line to:

ViewportManager=WinDrv.WindowsClient

Then save the file, close it, and restart Revision. Hopefully that should do it.

That fixed it.
Thanks for coming here to help me out. I really appreciate it.

I figured there were some under the hood reasons, since Revision seemed to have fixed the weird mouse acceleration behavior the GOTY has in menus, which incidentally came back once i applied your tweak.

I know i'm an odd outlier, even among other left handed people, for actually using my mouse left handed, so i'm happy with the tweak as is and will get used to the ballistic mouse in the menu.

Thanks again

http://www.highrez.co.uk/downloads/XMouseButtonControl.htm

Install XMouseButtonControl.
Run it.
Click Add and select the game/process in question.
Highlight the added entry in the list.
For "Left Button" select "Right Button"
For "Right Button" select "Left Button"
Click Apply.
Donate to XMouseButtonControl

The Left and Right mouse buttons will now be swapped for the process you selected, making changes to the "default" program entry will make the changes global (apply to everything).
