I am having an issue with the sound effects. All of the sound effects are filled with static and sound tinny. Speech is almost unbearable to listen to. The music sounds great and the game runs smoothly, there is just a problem with the effects.

Any solutions?

Have you tried turning up the sample rate and sound quality in the sound settings?

Setup set the default to the highest settings.

My first thought would be to check that you have the Windows sound quality set to compatible settings. Having higher settings causes weird sound problems in some games.

Go to Control Panel, Hardware and Sound, Sound.
Open Speakers (or whatever your default playback device is)
On the Advanced tab, choose one of the two 48000 Hz options and click Apply.

If that's what was causing the problem everything should work as expected the next time you run the game (you don't need to restart the computer).

Do you have Deus Exe installed? http://kentie.net/article/dxguide/
You can change audio latency there to non-default. It helps in similar situations

Works beautifully now. Thanks so much. I have been really looking forward to playing this game again but was so disappointed with the sound issues. It sounds great now and I can't wait to play through it now.

Thanks again!

No problem, friend. Glad to help
Anyone else ever get the error with 4.3 saying it's missing engine.dll?
