what is added in the GOTY edition of Deus Ex 1. I own the original retail version, and need some excuses on why i maybe should get the gog version. or maybe i shouldnt. what do you think?
This question / problem has been solved by boct1584image
The retail Game of the Year edition came with the soundtrack (included with GOG's version), a printout of an in-game tabloid called Midnight Sun (included as a .PDF with GOG's version), and the manual (again, included as a .PDF with GOG's version.) Not sure if there was anything else.

GOG's version further includes a reference card (PDF), some HD wallpapers, and avatars sized for the GOG forums. It's also pre-patched to v1112fm.

If your retail version still works, there's really no reason you need to buy it from GOG unless you want the extras or want to support their business model.
i would love to support their business model, but i don't have enough cash to simply rebuy all my old games from them! lol. besides i've already bought dozens of titles from gog, all great stuff to be sure. except for abes oddessy, which was a real stinker.
Did they solve the issues in the retail GOTY version of music not playing when you return to NYC, and a certain door in Maggie Chow's apartment not opening? I think there are mods to fix these things, I'm just curious.
08_NYC_STREET not playing music is a bug in the GOTY version of the map, not the game engine. As for Maggie Chow's Buddha not moving, no, that was not fixed. Shifter fixes it, not sure what else does.
