Someone's made a proper mass fix and tweak mod for Invisible War. It can be found at http://ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=147423
It fixes most issues including that drop to desktop each time it loads a new level. Supports high resolutions had a few optional mods thrown in and seems to work fine for me on a fresh install on Windows 10. It's still in the early stages being updated. It looks like it may be from the same people who made the Sneaky Update fix pack for Thief 3 which had many similar issues.
