Hi All! this is my first post so i am not sure where to put this.... anyway i have went through as many ways i can think of to get the achievements working, just for reference i have tried reinstalling GOG Galaxy, Deus Ex GOTY and Revision Mod several times and i have made sure in GOG settings that the Overlay and Achievements are checked. however when ever i boot up Deus Ex Revision and go for any one of them they don't show up and the Overlay dosn't seem to be active in the game, ever though it is checked in the settings menu. I am stuck with what else i can try... would really like to experience this great game again with the cool achievements in place!

any help would be appreciated!

I encountered the same problem today. You'll have to roll back the game to a previous version. When on the Deus Ex GOTY page in your library, do the following:

- Click the "more" button next to the "Play" button.
- Untick the box that says "Automatically update to newest version".
- You'll now have a choice of a handful of previous versions. I enabled 1.112fm(Revision 1.3.0.1)
- Galaxy then proceeds to download the earlier version.

Please note that savegames may not be compatible to savegames from the latest version. Also, please be aware that there are no in-game notifications for unlocked achievements. But once you exit the game, the achievements you unlocked during your session should show up in Galaxy.

I did this and went as far back as I could. It was too far, because now there's files to run the game that won't load, apparently from the materials. I'll try uploading a more recent version and see if this workaround still works. The oldest version available for download (the first one I tried that doesn't work) is about 3 years old. I'll let y'all know if I find a version that works and applies the achievements.

UPDATE: I tried all the available previous versions, and none of them were even playable, much less fixed the achievement issue.

So, do Achievements work in the Steam-version?

This is exactly why Achievements should ALSO from the jump be built right into the actual game itself and for offline play, not just for online soft-DRM suites like GOG GALAXY and STEAMWORKS.
