I bought this game less than a year ago from GOG and when i installed it everything was fine. no issues whatsoever. after testing it out i havent played it as i was busy with other games at the time. but a couple days ago i tried to play the game and it looks like its going to run like normal but then it crashes back to my desktop. i have no idea what is causing this but similar things are happening to some of my other games as well, like Unreal Gold and Diablo 1 and 2. those games ran fine without giving me trouble but then the decided to stop working around the same time Deus Ex did. i have no idea if its all connected but if anyone knos what might be up i sure could use some help.

You didn't give any computer specs, but I would suspect you may need to update your graphics drivers, and all other drivers just to be sure. Also, you may have some junk adware and spyware programs that may be causing your computer to act up and if you haven't already you should sweep your computer for those as well. I believe AdAware is still a good program for this task.

On that note, do an anti-virus sweep as well if you don't do it regularly.

Is your computer running hot by chance? It is the middle of summer after all. An overheated graphics card can produce crashes like these in any game.

While not so easy to test, it could also be the result of broken hardware. Bad RAM (random access memory) can produce similar problems, though when these things break they often cause blue screen errors.

None of my suggestions are specifically related to Deus Ex or any of the games you mentioned, but the timeline you present and the error you describe makes me think the problem is with your computer in general.

I have a Lenovo laptop running Windows 7 64-bit. and see all my other games run fine. its just those few. but ill try to sweep my computer for anything wrong. at the same time i only had my computer for about 2.5 to 3 years. and even though it is summer i dont think its heat as it has not really been very hot at all in my part of California.
