I don't know what's going on with the GOG version of Deus Ex anymore. Checking the download options in my account I only see a download for "Deus Ex GOTY Edition 1.112fm(Revision 1.6.1.0)" which is 524MB, there is no other download option. Meanwhile the installer I have backed up from years ago from GOG for Deus Ex is 373MB so clearly what GOG now offers has a bunch of extra stuff with no option for just the game itself.
One can only presume/hope that the extra stuff is optional, or can somehow be removed or deleted from the installed result for those that just want the original game.
I haven't played with Revision but I'm familiar with it, I like how places look less empty in general but otherwise I'm not really interested in using it.
As for how the original game looks with the New Vision textures it's pretty decent, here's some quick screenshots I uploaded
https://imgbox.com/g/zF00oXFfXh Other than NewVision I also used the Kentie Direct3D 10 renderer
http://www.kentie.net/article/d3d10drv/index.htm which I strongly suggest, and I added some bloom using ReShade (
https://1fichier.com/dir/SgTlKR3t) which you can just extract into the Deus Ex folder if you want to try it out, to be clear merge the system folders).
I'd also suggest using the Kentie Deus Exe to launch the game as it offers some nice options and basic mod manager support
http://www.kentie.net/article/dxguide/index.htm Been playing through the game with that setup for a while now and it's been fine.
Though I'd also suggest checking out the mods Shifter, BioMod, or NanoMod (which includes both Shifter and BioMod) they're available on ModDB. It's been a long time since I played the game so I wanted to keep it more standard but I'll probably try the NanoMod next time I play the game as it looked like it has some nice options.
