Never finished this game, back from my original hard copy.....about time....so giving it a shot....realized right from the start, due to the opening menu, something was amiss with the mouse.....it doesn't move properly...jumps and moves too far....renders the game probably unplayable......same thing when doing medical bots, etc, during the training mission.

I recall on my older XP laptop, the game and controls worked perfectly fine. So, curious. I looked back 5 pages here and saw nothing on menu mouse issues.

The game itself lagged a bit too....and really bad with explosions, etc. Given I have 16 GB of RAM....that doesn't seem right either. But, can't get the menus to work to check video settings!
Deus Ex has aged terrible and has many problems on new PC's.
During my last try 2years ago i got it running with the help of these

Thanks.....those links have so many options, not sure which direction to go........anyone have further advice?
New PC's and old games, there're so many things that can cause problems...missing/updated dll's, missing/updated codecs, software, backroundtools, etc....from far away it's always only guessing expect you had a very simlar Problem.
So..sorry no further advice...you either have to try it out yourself or take someone wise in the ways of making old games running on modern pc's to your Pc ;)

O..one hint..there're also other mods for deus Ex that claim to make it easier, running it at modern pc's...so...there's even more stuff to try out if you wish ;)

Should I assume you bought a copy of the game from Gog?

If so, post a trouble ticket and the good folks will help you to solve your woes. :)
