Quasebarth: I use the DX11 fallback too now. Had some DirectX driver error with crash to desktop with DX12 when accessing in-game menus (e.g. save game). No problems and crashes with DX11 yet.
I am running an AMD Radeon 5700XT with recent driver 20.4.2 by the way.
GHOSTMD: I had no errors, it just CTD ed as if i would use a mod that i installed the wrong way.

Might be the same cause, but different driver behaviour between AMD and nVidia. The error said something about driver issues and I might not have enough resources ... and I should probably reinstall the graphic driver because it might be broken. Could be of course, although the driver is a pretty fresh latest install. My system is pretty high-end, or at least, it would have been considered highest end when DeusEx Mankind Divided was released, so I would not expect to run out of resources for anything with this game. I might of course try running it with lower details and stuff, to see if it does not crash then, then again how many resources can the game menus need on the other hand?
Now I could try an older driver or fiddle around endless with the system configuration and ingame option, but I guess, I just run it with DX11 for now. Although I would say smoke/nebula effects and lighting look better in DX12 and it seems to be smoother as well. Well until it crashes at least. ;-)
The problem is the game not my hardware/system I would say!
The crash problem is not new or exclusive to the GOG version:

There might also be a solution in this thread. I have not tried the registry edit that is suggested and seems to work for some.
Also the start-up crash is not exclusive to GOG if you follow some of the posts on Steam. Disabling Fullscreen Optimisation seems another fix for that problem:
