That game is unplayable on my PC (I tried a lot of "solutions" with no result) and today (July 5th) GOG Galaxy downloaded an update for Desperados: Wanted Dead or Alive.

But I can't find any patch note. Am I the only one?
Sadly and annoyingly the patch notes are often left out or not even ever written.
Yes, so the update thats available via Galaxy makes the game compatible on modern systems and adds the demo level.

Oh wish I knew that before I bought it on Steam. Then again I only bought it out of curiosity about what the patch actually does.

Widescreen working perfectly even for FMVs (which the old widescreen would both letterbox and pillarbox) is nice, but it's also a bit inferior for two reasons. First there's no resolution choice (1024x600 seems to be the one you get, which is less than the 1280x720 I would prefer) and second there's no option for integer scaling ( http://tanalin.com/en/articles/lossless-scaling/ ) which could be forced on the existing game if you used DXGL or DxWnd.

Cool! will you update the offline installer as well? Thanks a lot for the hard work!

^ This. Must I actually use GOG Galaxy in order to receive the "Updated" version ?

I prefer to NOT use another client. I prefer to download a complete DRM-Free version on this, a DRM-Free game site.

If this is the case, where I must use the GOG Galaxy in order to have the Updated version which costs the same as the Non-Updated version (which does not run on modern systems without tweaking and third-party programs) Then I'll just refund my purchase and go back to my retail version.

Sorry, but it sounds like BS to me. Simply put .... I DO NOT WANT GOG GALAXY on my computer. Why you say ? Because it takes up unnecessary space I can't afford to spare. Also it latches onto all my other GOG games and keeps updating them when I DO NOT want them updated because of Mods and the like.

So, like he said .... Will the offline installer be "Updated" as well ? If so, when ? Just curious because I just paid $5.99 for the same thing I have sitting in a retail box on a shelf collecting dust. That is the reason I purchased this GOG "UPDATED" version. I didn't know it came with the stipulation of having to use an "Online Client ".

Probably 1024x576 with 16:9 and 1024x640 with 16:10. But otherwise it takes desktop resolution and scales it.
Width is certainly 1024, as I compared it to original game.
It's fine to me as I like a normal size HUD.

As far as my account is concerned, the classic installer has been rolled out within the last few hours.
I was almost as afraid as you to be honest though ;)

Thank you guys so freaking much. Was waiting for a proper update for years and having the lovely demo included is just amazing since it contains a level that isn't in the main game but connects to the story.Keep up the good work ;).Cheers

Yes, I noticed when testing Robin Hood widescreen that 1024x600 isn't widescreen and realized that meant I was wrong about Desperados, but didn't feel it was important enough to edit my post.

I find 1024x576 to be very wrong, I used to play it at 1024x768 on a smaller monitor. Less resolution at a larger display size isn't a normal size HUD, or a normal size game. Everything is too large.
Great patch but I would have liked an extra 800x480 resolution as an option, the lowest widescreeney screen resolution. Thats the way I use to play the old games from the era, choosing the lowest resolution (fallout, commandos, desperados, etc...)
