First of all, I'm SOOO glad that THQ would take the time to produce an update/patch to allow their game to be played on modern computers.

That being said, the patch didn't help me. Now, when I try to load the game, I only get a black screen and the game becomes unresponsive. The game never worked well on my pc (huge problem with slow scrolling) but the game loaded. Now it's not.

Is anybody getting the same results?

My computer:

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-2328M CPU @ 2.20GHz
Video card: Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000
RAM: 4 Gig
Operating System: Windows 8.1 64-bit

Yes, I immediately crash to the desktop with no crash report or anything if I touch any of the graphics settings or if I start a new game. Windows 8.1 64 bit here. I can still run my retail version with DXWnd and a widescreen resolution of 1600x900 with a little tweaking. As for now, I think I'll just stick with my retail version and refund this version as I notice no fixes for modern systems.

Sad, really had my hopes up.

The only way to actually get the "Updated" version is to download the game via GOG Galaxy. The Offline installer is the same as the original with none of the fixes. Hence the problems we are having. Would be nice to know this fact BEFORE purchasing.

Small update today!

Everything is working for me now! Althought the game experiences some slow moments.
