I realize GOG uses two versioning systems: its internal numbering and the actual version number according to the developer. That is all fine and well, but I've been looking around other platforms (Steam, mobile) and they offer a more up to date version of this game than GOG does (Steam current is 1.55, GOG current is 1.53)

I've tried all download methods (GOG Downloader, Galaxy and browser) but all I seem to get is 1.53. Is it normal for GOG to lag behind a little, or am I doing something wrong? sorry if it is a stupid question but I'm very new to the site.

We'll look into this. Usually we try to keep the disparity to a minimum but sometimes updates get delayed. We'll see what we can do to get you up to date :)

I managed to update today, so thank you very much for helping me out. I did it through Galaxy and now the version
reports 1.55 (GOG-6).

A new version has been out for a while it seems (1.56).
I don't mean to be annoying but important bug fixes were enacted, including fixes dealing with crashes;
So please when possible, add the latest version to GOG.

Yes, the DLC's installer is 2.4.0.6 and the main game is 2.5.0.7. Also the game states there is an update available. This was my "mysterious game" from the winter sales so I look forward to that update. :D

There is no recent patch for Desktop Dungeons, and the GOG version is fully up-to-date. The in-game "update" button has always been kinda useless :-P
