descent is one of my favorite games, along with freespace 1 and 2, and this is largely becuase i love using the keypad. weird right. but also, i enjoy the difficulty. on the normal difficulty level, you have to do more then just stand still and shoot to survive, you really have to dance around. its hard, but a great deal of fun.

of course, in the easiest difficulty, you can just sit still and shoot so that option is available to many who prefer it.

I practically grew up playing descent! it came out when I was 5 and I've loved it ever since.

what do you like about descent?

just a really fun game... I love the first person aspect, shooting and flying. I also really love the complexity of the levels, some are so cleverly designed. I feel like each installment had more challenges. You had to use a little more logic in 2 because of the switches, and 3 is a lot more involved. Having said that, the original is still my favorite. Like I said, I started playing at 5, I'm 23 now! The game was my childhood and I've been getting back into it over the last year or so.
