Bought, loaded and had a quick bash on Descent 1 after sooooo many years and, well, I'm thrilled that it's still such a piece of fully-formed badassery. The ideas are there and the game is solid from the get-go. So happy.

Have you updated to D1x-rebirth or D2x-rebirth? It's even better.
