Just got Descent 1+2 to my Windows 7 machine. At last! Long time no see!

Descent 1 works fine after I changed the graphics mode set up to overlay.

But Descent 2 is just too fast! Can I change the speed of the program? I see people speaking about dosbox and settings, but I don't see such program. So what do I do?
I'd read this: http://www.gog.com/en/forum/descent_series/descent_1_2_faq_please_read

Like it says you should probably try a source port...if you're set on using DOSBox though, I sadly can't help you since I don't know much about it :/
Thanks! I will try that! Anyway I will just post my own findings if it can be of any help to others.

DIscovered that when I run Descent it is actually dosbox that is being run, and then dosbox loads Descent. Sort of.

Dosbox was installed with the game when I bought it from gog, and can be found in a nearby folder (under gog). So by just running dosbox alone (i.e. klicking on it in explorer) I get a menu of things + information. And the answer to my problem is:

Ctrl F11 slows down the game and ctrl F12 speeds it up.

It is just that the ctrrl button is the default button för shooting, and that is what I am used to. But it seems to work if I just switch to reading the map.
Pyro-GX bobbing crazily.

Shooting lasers look like beams.

Right? Heh! :P
