I don't know about Windows, haven't used it in ages. All I know is that there is a ton written about Unix, but there is little written about Windows command-line tools. There also appears to be generally less interest in the command-line interface; one time I was going crazy trying to find a way to clone an NTFS drive on Windows, it was all GUi-based shareware solutions. In the end I just wrote a simple shell script for Unix that was able to make perfect 1:1 copies.
