If you are experiencing any sort of mouse issues in Windows 8.1 while playing Descent 3, please download the Windows 8.1 mouse lag fix from your game shelf to fix the problem :)

Keep in mind that this is Windows 8.1 specific so it will not work on earlier versions of Windows.

The patcher refuses to recognize that I have Descent 3 installed. I did not install it in the default directory, it's on a completely different drive from the default, so clearly the patcher is not equipped to handle this circumstance. What can I do about this? The mouse is so twitchy without the patch I can barely even navigate the menus, and I can forget about playing the game at all.

You can double check the registry entries around [HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\GOG.com] and see if the path is correct.

The path is correct, but the patcher still says the game directory is not found.

Hello,
I have the same problem of Onihikage! The patch doesn´t understand i have descent3 installed. "Game instalation not found". But it´s installed and i use it in "xxx:\Games\GOG\Descent 3"
The value of registry "DefaultPackPath" is "xxx:\Games\GOG".

What i have to do to make the patch recgonize the path?

I'm having the same issue with directory not found. I installed to the default directory. Tried reinstalling as well. Checked the path in the registry. So far, no luck.

Did anybody figure this one out?

Mine also refuses to recognize that i've installed the game. Any luck with a solution, gog?
