I have D2X-Rebirth and the original redbook music. But now im wondering what was the correct music playback mode, some people say that each level started with it's corresponding music track, like this:

(tracks 2 and 3 are the title's and credits music)
level 01 - track 04
level 02 - track 05
...
and so on

and that when the track stopped playing the next track on the cd started playing and when the last track ended the music just stopped. Some people said that the music instead of going on to the next track just looped. Some other people said that all of the tracks play on all of the levels. What is it then? can anyone here with an og copy of Descent 2 CD tell please?

btw, i have that addon for the redbook music and some things are outright wrong, like for example, in the original title screen if track 2 stopped, track 3 started playing instead, im not sure if when it looped it went back to track 2 or it just looped track 3 but just a heads-up there

My experience back in the 90's with the original CD version was no music. I think my family PC at the time was really low spec because it wouldn't play the in-game music at all. Just sound effects and whatever music CD my mother was playing.

I never listened to music while playing Descent. I needed to make sure I could here the bots/players

You could check a descent 2 playthrough on pc: think it also has midi playback.
