Hello,
Does anybody know how to get the game look like this? Search on Youtube for "Descent - Gameplay [HD]" (I unfortunately can not post links here.)

One of these two are likely to be involved:
https://www.dxx-rebirth.com/about/
http://www.descent2.de/d2x-about.html

Disclaimer: I have not used either and did not look at any Youtube video

The ones already posted.
The first (dxx-rebirth) if you want just vanilla Descent but with high resolution, widescreen and fully configurable gamepad and HOTAS controls.
The second (d2x-XL) if you also want to mod it heavily in gameplay and graphics.
I have been using rebirth for years and is a great port, smooth, fast and close to real thing but with good new options, probably one of the best source ports made, but the constant claims about rebirth being like vanilla but just with modern systems compatibility is false and annoying.

Rebirth changes the lighting of the originals to a modern 32 bits one because an emulated software mode is not yet supported. I miss something like chocolate doom for descent 1 and 2.
