Hi, I just got Descent 1 and 2 and I'm having a problem with getting the game to work in full screen. The game runs in windowed mode but in full screen I just see an image but no changes occur.

An example: if I'm on the main menu and I try to move to 'load game' or 'options', as examples, I don't see the change, or if I'm playing a level, my ship doesn't move. Once I switch to windowed mode, I can see my ship moving.

Is there anyway to fix this so I can play in full screen without any hindrance?

I'm not sure about doing it in DOSBox...but generally the best way to use Descent on a modern computer is to grab a source port:

D2X-XL (Not sure about the website you can google it)

In short Rebirth keeps the game as original as possible, while the other one adds a bunch of stuff :)

Also, I have the old disks which include the "Vertigo Series" and "Levels of the World", is there any way to install these as additions?

The Levels of the world are for D1. You can install them by putting them into the Missions folder inside the main install directory. (Just copy all of them from the various folders on the cd to that folder.)

Vertigo is for D2.

That's got a link as well, but if you already have it you can just copy the files over from the cd :)
