I installed D3 from GOG. I set the graphics card to D3D, Direct Sound, and high machine spec.

Launch it and get audio but no video, my monitor light blinks and goes out. The game is running just not viewing the video. I think the problem is the resolution. I had to start D1/D2 in a Window, set the resolution, then go back to full screen.

SB i7 3.4Ghz
XFX ATI 5870
HPZR30W Monitor

I think the monitor won't support the low initial res but cannot find anyplace in D3 where I can bump it up. Open GL and D3D do the same thing.

Any ideas?

Try using a defauilt res in D3 like this.

-width 1600 -height 1200 -aspect 1.33

If you google Descent 3 Command Line optins you wuill get a full list of them you can put in the launcher
Thanks,

Tried that with no luck.

I also installed the June DX patch per the support document.

Tried OpenGL and D3D, just audio.

I have a feeling it is the monitor, connected via Display Port. It doesn't have an OSD so sometimes hard to tell what its doing.

D2 w/ DXX did the same thing until I played around with it and got the res set right

I did use the D3 Command line option in the launcher when I put the switches in. I tried your suggestion plus 1280x720 1.77 with no luck.

Descent 2 runs perfectly but its a bit big on this monitor :)

Freespace and Freespace 2 do the exact same thing too.
