ive worked it out myself.
for anyone thyat also wants to know.
2 ways. on a forum someone said to alter from flightsim mode to mouselook mode in the configuration panel in the games main menu.
interplay official website says "A: In the mouse/joystick configuration screen, click on the box with the '?' next to whatever setting you're using your mouse Y-axis for (probably pitch). That will bring up a small dialog box that will let you invert the axis. "

THANKSSSS Man !!! This really saved me from hours of frustration. The mouse look mode sucks because it is too fast and jerky on my pc, but the inverted flightsim mode is perfect.
hows anyone supposed to know you must click a "?"?
Anyhow thanks.
