I remember LAN games with Descent, well over a decade ago, when I borrowed my friend's parallel port network adapter and typed in the magic incantations to get the IPX network stack working. I remember upgrading to a 486 and being able to play the game full screen at a fluid (for then) 20 frames per second! Most of all, however, I remember the adrenaline of the hunt. Descent was the first worthwhile multiplayer game, and there's still nothing else like it.
