I logged into my account today and noticed that I had an update for a game (this one, Windows version). When I looked, there was only the installer (2.5GB) for the game...no Universal update like I see on some other updates for games. So....am I supposed to download the entire 2.5GB again and reinstall? Do I need to uninstall my current version first?

I saw something in the topics about a new Mac version...is it just showing the update because of the new Mac version, meaning I don't need to do anything for my current Windows version?

I've actually had this question about several games in the past where I got an UPDATE marker, but no patch/update to download. In the past, I just downloaded again and ran installer without uninstalling first.....but I would like to know for future reference what I should actually do in this kind of situation. Thanks

It seems that the update notification was due to the addition of the German version for Mac, so if you have the Windows version, you don't need to do anything about this.

Apparently, there has been some complaints from Windows users who get confused by the Mac update warnings since those do not concern them at all. However, at this point there doesn't seem to be a way to separate Windows and Mac updates, so for games that have both versions available you'll have to check which installer was updated before redownloading the game - chances are it's the one you don't need.
Ok, that makes sense and I kinda thought that was the issue. Because most of the games have a Universal Update option for upgrades. That is a relief cause I don't want to download and reinstall a big file again! lol

That doesn't change the fact that GOG staff should be more explicit in what constitutes the update.
