I think because, at that date and time, "pirates" where not that interrested in the game. But things have changed radically in the last two years. Just look at Cuphead. Both Steam and Gog releases where available 1 HOUR after release. I dont really understand. At least they could give the devs a chance to make their money back.

Not only do they disrespect GOG customers, they also don't updates for retail DVDs. I learned that when I got Edna on DVD, which crashed all the time for me. Thankfully, the GOG version doesn't.

Why bother with the Complete Journey on Steam either? It has broken audio just as the recent GOG versions here.

On the other hand, you can actually download the unbutchered versions on Steam.

It would be really great, if GOG could offer that service too. Preferably less obfuscated to use that is.
Anyway, to have the audio intact, take the latest version before November 17, 2014 for each of the three games.
Unfortunately there is no Linux version before that date.
As a side effect, the first two games are much larger in that version, as they also have lossless backgrounds.
But remember: Don't buy the Complete Journey (except for the bonus material that is). That edition was broken from the beginning on. It introduced this audio mess and they backported it to the standalone games.
It is also expected behavior that the engine of the first game doesn't perform that smooth in the old version, but that doesn't bother me nearly as much as broken audio.

I played the 3 original games, but had no interest in the "The Complete Journey.

Since most of the people in this thread played advocates for Steam and Daedalic and one called your post 'rumbling', I wanted to say that I am also unhappy about the decision of not releasing the game on GOG, no matter if there are added content or no added content or whatever...
