I have read the French language has been added to Deponia 1 quite recently on Steam.
Would that be possible to include French in the GoG release too ?

Unfortunately, it's not so easy. Steam could have exclusive rights on translation, so that the publisher only let the english version here on GOG.

There is a request on GOG wishlist to add more languages to the games: maybe you'd like to vote for it.

Actually, that isn't so... Daedalic on their own forum said they made the french version available to ALL customers.

Its just that they had to contact Steam because they (Steam) just hadn't made it available to their users. I assume it is similar here, since the translation is available to everyone, it should be to GoG as well. GoG team just need to pass it on to us.

Good news for french speaking fans out there, I've been on Daedalic's forum sending some PMs to people working there and here is the reply I finally received!

The French version of Deponia is coming to gog.com! Actually it should arrive in the following weeks, so you won't have to wait long to finally get it there.

I contacted Daedalic & GoG again to make sure this hadn't been forgotten. Daedalic replied that the files were now available, though GoG on their end said they weren't notified of the files being available. So both sides told me they'd contact each other.

With some luck this means the french version will be available soon.
