Vainamoinen: It's worse than you might think. Daedalic is putting this game on the cover CD of a gaming magazine (tied to Germany's most despised tabloid, no less), and it's available on release day with the magazine at 9.99 €.

Of course, that cover CD version is tied to Steam.

However, Steam and retail versions are in all probablity at the known price tag of 29.99 € – that would in no way be a bad price for a great adventure game, but reeks foul after selling the game off for one third the price at initial release.

As to DRM free – who knows whether Daedalic's new owner Bastei Lübbe even lets them distribute on GOG,
and if they do, at what point in time after the release they deem it appropriate;
and when they do, whether they'd rather reserve the German voiceover for Steam folks.

As always, regional pricing will ensure that only German speaking folks will get the brunt of Daedalic's deeply unfair kamikaze marketing.
true, but the thing is that 30 bucks for a good game like command and conquer or redalert or any fighting /rts/strategy game is different, usually with adventures , you kinda remind the things to do and look for, as for action is always fun to blow away the tanks.
So games like c&c , redalert, jagged alliance will always have a better second life and 3rd and 4th life :D
the adventures.

If they (daedalic) dont want to sell drm free, well thats up to daedalic :D
then they just keep their stuff :D
if they (daedalic)would only make german games and voices, also their own choise, but i would not get these games :D

Waroverlord: It usually takes GOG a few days. But I'd still like a confirmation or denial from them so I can make arrangements.
If they're gonna "stock" it, I'm willing to wait a bit. If they're not, well then I'll have to go look elsewheres.

Vainamoinen: They have already said in a German interview that there will eventually be a DRM free version on disc as well as online.

Anyway, it should have been "day one"... :(
According to the attached image, on Facebook they say they're at least working on it.

I'm with you on that I'll refrain from buying the game on any other platform than GOG. There sure are games that I don't mind buying on that platform, but Deponia is a special case. Anyway, I hope they won't let us wait too long.

And shame on Bastei Lübbe that they decided to get into bed with the Springer Verlag. Shame on them, hope they'll contract some ugly disease. >:-(

I'm not that certain that Bastei is to blame. It's possible business contacts between Daedalic and Springer (in particular their games magazine) had been established before Bastei bought Daedalic.
They're sure taking their sweet time.
Deponia 4 was really great. I hope you guys don't need to wait so long for a gog release.

They release it on the Humble Store DRM free, so it wasn't the problem. I assume it will eventually release on GOG - I just don't see why it should take so much time.

Possibly coinciding with the German retail release (April 8th) to appease retailers gone raving mad over D4's Steam exclusivity.
Finally it's here :D
Extremely pricey, though. No Deponia is worth THAT much, especially quite some time after the release date. I guess it's a -75%/-80% wait for me.
Ordered my boxed version last week, should arrive today.
One question about the Soundtrack: Is this the German version or the English? Or even both?
