I've installed Deponia and after I had only a small peek into it I would now like to play it.
Apparently, I've installed it in english but I would like to play the supposedly better german version.

How do I change the language? I didn't find any option ingame and reinstalled but still, everything in english ...?
Do I really have to wipe the registry or is there a convenient option?

I guess you're talking about Deponia 1. You have to re-download every part of the installer, but with the German language. Go to your game collection, click on Deponia and choose "German" for your "Preferred installer version".
I would recommend you to remove the English version first, before installing the new German version.
