It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

I bought Deponia a while ago when it was on sale and just last week got around to play it. However, when I try to play the game, I cannot see the cursor. The game seems to be otherwise running fine. I can see the menu icons become highlighted, and I can start the game and go into the tutorial, but can't see the actual cursor. Any help would be appreciated. I was really looking forward to this and would like to play it to see if I should pre-order the second game.

Same for me :-(
Unfortunately there's no support from gog or anyone else to solve the problem.
Tips like "update your driver... " are useless if there's no newer driver.

I found a couple potential solutions to try:

Is easier than this. Just go to C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\Common\Deponia and right click on Deponia exe file, then properties and go to compatibility tab. Mark the option to avoid the desktop composition and size and it should be work fine.
Hey I managed to fix it and quite by accident. In order to fix a problem with another game entirely I needed to set my windows font sizing scheme from 150% to normal. After I did that the problem was gone....for some reason. Anyhow, I hope this works for you as well.
I hope one can work!
Thank you for the hints but nothing works.
My current workaround is to completly disable hardware acceleration.
Oops, I didn't realize people had posted in my thread.

Thanks for the help, but I no longer have it installed on my laptop to try those out.

This was posted on the steam forums about a week ago from one of the developers. Linky

This is a know issue with older Intel Onboard graphic card like the 965 Express chipset. These chipsets don't fullfill the minimum system requirement of supporting OpenGL 2.0. The necessary features could be added via a driver update of your notebook manufacturer (if there is one). But only a few manufacturers actualy did this addition and the standard Intel drivers for these chipsets don't contain the required OpenGL Extensions.

If your notebook uses an integrated graphics solution like the Intel HD series and you still have this problem than please contact us at support@daedalic.de

You have to lower your 'color quality' down to 16 Bit and run the game in Windowed Mode.

I have an Intel Graphics Media Accelerator Driver so all I had to do was 'right-click' on the desktop, click on 'graphics properties,' 'display settings' then I lowered the quality down to 16 Bit.
Hope this helps.
