Starting the game results in a error message, something to the effect of:

blah blah... api-ms-win-downlevel-kernal32-12-1-0.dll is missing. Try reinstalling

Dismissing the message will allow the game to finally start.

This apparently has something to do with the UE4 Editor. No idea why a UE4 Editor error is happening or what effect this may have on game play on down the line.
