The gog version says 2.0.0
Once downloaded it says 2.0.0.2
once installed it says 1.0.48, and asks me to download an update which is 1.0.51 (and not a gog installer)
windows installer version could very well be different from game version. still a discrepancy between windows installer versions.

my beef is that after auto-update, my shortcut only wants to launch 1.0.48, I have to launch the updater, have it tell me that the update is already installed, and I can run 1.0.51 from that.

EDIT: it appears that the update installs a copy in a different location. (i have my GOG games installed in a custom directory). after uninstalling the 1.0.48 version, my control panel still showed a 1.0.51 version installed. i didn't bother hunting down the *.exe, i just uninstalled it as well.

if someone more dedicated than me figures a fix, or a new patch is pushed that resolves this, my exported save is waiting.

Eh, the new update installed itself into "DefendersQuest" directory instead into mine "Defender's Quest" one.

Also it was weirdly done, because I think it asked me for Defender's Quest directory but when I selected it, it installed the before mentioned DefendersQuest directory inside the game directory.

Okay, that did it. the first issue was my own error for not double-checking the path.

After choosing the correct path, I did observe the installer create the extra DefendersQuest folder, and just moved those contents into my main game folder. All is well, although that is an issue that still needs fixing.

the download page just needs the minor tweak to reflect the actual windows installer version, and this thread will have served its purpose.
1.0.51 is the game's own internal version. 2.0.0.2 is the GOG installer version. 2.0.0 is the way it shows up in your account until GOG caves in to pressure and makes all 4 numbers to display.

I figured that, I just wanted to point out to GOG that the numbering mess is, well, a mess.
