When running this game, I get a message from my anti-virus regarding a "four-star threat" to my computer. Funny, because this game was installed after the fracas over the Adobe AIR.

What's the deal?

you could start by saying what your anti virus is called. And continue by telling us what it told you the threat is (4 stars threat says very little, what did it SPECIFICALLY say?)

AVG

It was regarding:

Reswitch.exe

Reswitch or Resswitch?

I'm going to take a stab in the dark and say it may be one of the processes that supports a native resolution change, like reschange.exe. That may be what's setting AVG off. AVG is weird sometimes, it doesn't much care for "dota2.exe," either.

I couldn't find anything about it that was definitive one way or the other, so maybe err on the side of caution?
Mortons4ck is correct, this is a false positive.

AS3 cannot natively support changing resolutions, so we use a command-line utility that runs in the background to drive this functionality, and the game sends and receives data from it via standard input in order to get the legal resolutions and switch between them.

This is the actual utility:
http://www.naughter.com/qres.html

On windows, that is. On Mac, we use a different utility (I think we actually included the source code for that one) and on Linux we use a simple shell script that calls Xrandr.
So, I perhaps am having a related issue tonight.

I switched to fullscreen mode in my last session, but now it crashes at startup when shifting to fullscreen, even while disabling AVG.

Getting a 3214 error (screenshot attached).

Is there a config while where I can manually override the fullscreen setting? Help pls! =)

== Edit ==
Even putting ResList.exe on AVG exception list, still get the same error. Strange that the name isn't exactly the same as Reswitch.exe - can't find that file.

It's been posted multiple times in this forum, but here's the location of the config directory on windows:
C:\Users\YOUR_USER_NAME\AppData\Roaming\DefendersQuest\Local Store

I don't know the mac equivalent off the top of my head, but if you're on mac I can look it up for you.

The file is "config.xml" Deleting it should restore your screen settings to default.

Ah, my bad on not finding that in other threads.

Regardless, it worked, thanks so much! This greatly improves my Monday =)
