Hi,

given that larsiusprime the developer is very quick to respond to messages about the game and seems very keen to constantly improve the game experience for us games, I would like to suggest some simple yet very useful keyboard shortcut behaviors which I found lacking.

1. In the cut-scenes make it possible to move forwards/backwards using the right/left arrow keys. This seems obvious so I was surprised it wasn't there.

2. Make 'pause' part of the game speed options so that when I use the +/- speed keys that would also include pause. For example if the game is paused and I hit the +speed the game should move to 1/2x, if the game is in 1/2x and I hit -speed the game should move to pause.
They way the player doesn't have to switch between the +/-speed keys and the space-bar.

I think this game is great and it's even more so because the developer is quite active and responsive :)
Seems reasonable. You can use tab to navigate between buttons and "enter" to click on them, but I agree arrows would be nice for cutscenes. The hardest part is finding a place to cram even more buttons into the configuration screen somewhere, so I might just silently add those as hardcoded keys for now.

The +/- keys thing makes a lot of sense, and shouldn't require any new interface.

Hi larsiusprime,

thanks for the constant followup, I appreciate it.

In the case of the dialogues I don't think you need new buttons. In fact it's not a good idea to cram buttons. It's usually best to use the least number of buttons that achieves a logical and consistent functionality.

I think that the left/right buttons that move the map can also be the ones that move the dialogue forwards and backwards. I think it would seem natural to people that the same binding that moves the map moves the dialogues forwards/backwards.

Escape can function as skip, if it doesn't do that already. (I have never skipped the dialogue)

thanks again for listening :)
Good ideas!
