I've purchased the game on Steam already and will gladly purchase another copy through gog but only if it is portable.

Meaning, can I copy it to a flash drive from home and play it on a computer at work? In case you were not aware several gog games do not allow you to do this, like RCT2.

The game itself is portable, but the config folder where the save files are located is hard-coded. (For Windows, it's \AppData\Roaming\DefendersQuest\Local Store\ ) So to get to truly portable status, you'll need to export your save files onto the portable drive and then import them for each computer. You may also want to copy over the configuration file (config.xml) so that you don't have to redo all of your keybindings and so on. You'll need to run the game once first, though, so it can set up the correct folder.

Perfect, thanks. That's basically what I have to do for Dungeons of Dredmor so I'm fine with doing that.

Next year sometime I want to put out a patch that lets you specify where to save your game's data files.
