I'm playing the normal game. I believe I'm towards the end (Achievements how 84% of game complete), just crossed the river after the second cave where you can recruit dragons. I have a question about the 3 books you start with, which appear to be easter eggs.

1) Book of Faces. Do the faces that appear on the monsters mean anything or affect their abilities? Anything else this book does.

2) Book of Anonymous. Other than the bonuses described on Extreme challenges, does this book do anything else?

3) Book of Secrets. It updates the map with an area in the desert that contains a large keyboard. I pressed a few keys at random but nothing happened. What is this place for? If I do learn about this later, don't spoil me, just let me know if I already missed anything.

Book of Faces, they seem to speed up, slow down by their mood from what I recall.
For the book of secrets, there are hints in the game for special codes you can enter which reward you special skulls which you can turn into other special books.

For example, one of them is a very famous cheat code...
Pretty sure Book of Anonymous is only useful on Extreme.
