Hey everybody!

The Defender's Quest II site is now live!

We have more details about the game and have started taking pre-orders for those of you who are so inclined. We tried to take all your feedback into account, and we'll continue to do so in the future.

Thanks for helping us make games!
Defender's Quest with artwork by Noogy? Sold! Ok, I'm going to wait until finances clear up a bit, but I'm buying a copy one way or another.

A couple of questions:
1. How long are the preorder deals valid? I'm assuming until just before release, but just to be sure.
2. Will the preorder include a GOG key?

1) Preorders are open for an indefinite amount of time, we have to cut them off at some point, but it won't be soon. We'll give some lead time about this. At the very least, we'll have to cut off the limited tiers that require extra effort on our parts (design an X, etc), a certain amount of time prior to launch, assuming they don't all sell out.

2) I can neither confirm nor deny this just yet. If GOG lets us, we will, but that's entirely up to them to decide if it's in their best interests or not.

Awesome! I hope it will last for a least several months because I'm slowly thinking about getting back to work (I decided to take a break for half a year) and thus I'll be able to spend more money. I would really like to support this game!
I absolutely loved Defender's Quest, so I will probably preorder to support you. Would be really great if we could get GOG keys as a bonus once the game is released.
I'll do my best to sweet-talk GOG vis-a-vis GOG keys :)
I got a book tier yesterday. I'm quite interested in the story.

I was wondering why you stopped making the let's play videos. I'm quite happy that what looked like a summer break ended up being a sequel even though it probably means you'll be too busy to make more :)
I missed the pick5 sale/promo on gog.com, does anyone know if there are plans for a future sale?
I'm little bummed I missed it @ $2.99! ~kicks self in face.

Sweetness! I totally missed this thread, and I didn't find out about the new DQ until RPS mentioned it just now. Something to look forward to.

They were pretty time consuming, and our video channel wasn't popular enough to justify it, but it was really fun! I still have like 5 or 6 more videos I never got around to uploading, just been too busy. Turns out it's hard to be BOTH a youtub'er AND a game developer, at least at the same time.
I was really hoping you guys would release DQ1 for this charity, but there is all ways next time.

Good luck with DQ2, looks fun.

Nice, so it's basically a totally unrelated story/world but with the same mechanics?

Any word on ballpark release?
Probably late 2014. That's tentative, of course.
Firstly - YAYAYAY!

Defenders Quest remains pretty much the only Tower Defence style game that I've enjoyed - heck enjoyed it enough to get through the whole game twice!

I also love that you're sticking with the 2D art direction - I always felt that it was a shame that the games industry jumped onto the 3D band wagon and left it behind. That isn't to say that 3D is bad, but 2D is still great and when polished up looks the part - and for something like DQ it doesn't need the 3D to really make the game work.

Like the choice to shift to a new troop of characters, lets the old game retain its charm without trying to force a new story out of things - though will there ever be a return to that world?

A question though, is the story still written by a USDA certified English major??
