After setting the options yesterday (to get it full screen) and relaunching the game today, I can't access the options menu any more. What's worse is if I start a new game, pretty much nothing happens: I'm just stuck with the text "My name is [character's name]" with the music in the background and the game does not respond to anything, I have to Alt+F4 out of it. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling but it seems that it does not help.

I'm assuming you might be running the game on a low-resolution laptop, so that the buttons on the bottom of the screen are cut off?

Possible solution:
If you're on windows, go here:
C:\Users\YOUR_USER_NAME\AppData\Roaming\DefendersQuest\Local Store

And delete the "config.xml" file. This will restore the game's settings to the default.

If you're on mac let me know and I will look up the default configuration file directory for you.

Deleting the config file did the trick, thanks :)

And I'm playing on my desktop with 1920x1200 monitor (though I had the resolution set to 1920x1080), now I have it at 1680x1050 and it works fine.
