I was just wondering if the provided key is worthy for the downloadable linux client. Thanks in advance for eventually clarifying this.

Not sure if this question is still relevant. But: Yes, the key works for the Linux version (at least my key from the gog version does, your mileage may vary). It begs the question however why not buy it directly from Introversion ... ? ;)
