I can't stress how important achievements are in such a game that uses Metroidvania and Soulslike mechanics. A lot of players for games like these (including me) like to challenge ourselves to the maximum and try to accomplish any sort of "masochistic" feat that pops up, it is fun, it is rewarding, and it extends the game's lifetime. Death's Gambit is the kind of game that absolutely benefits from the addition of achievements, and for those who do not enjoy this sort of thing, it can be disabled on GOG settings anyways, so it wouldn't change anything for those people, but it would add something important for those who enjoy it.

The Steam and the PS4 versions of Death's Gambit have achievements, so why didn't GOG implement them in its version? GOG's excuse for this kind of thing is that they must get in touch with the developers and that it takes work, however, Death's Gambit is a new indie game so there's not really much room for excuses. This is an issue that plagues GOG and puts a lot of achievement hunters off buying from the platform. The Witcher 2 for example, was developed by GOG's "sister company" CDPR (both are owned by CD Projekt) and it still doesn't have achievements added to it even though all the other versions do.

Below I'll be linking the achievements wishlists, you can vote if you agree with them. I'll also be making one for Death's Gambit, for as much as I dislike repetition, I think this is something that needs to be stressed enough because it's being overlooke in games that benefit from achievements.

Death's Gambit - Achievements

Achievement support for compatible games

Please add achievements for games that already have them on Steam.

I'll take the achievement hit for a DRM-free version of the game, but they're important to some people

It's not a competition, it's not about it having an "achievement hit" to be DRM-free. GOG could do both things and be the best platform, because they sure are lacking a lot when it comes to updates, patches, and achievements. While I am aware that the former two are a developer issue and not completely GOG's, the latter falls more into GOG's hands. It's about giving the consumer as much as they can; don't get me wrong, I buy most of my games on GOG, but when something like Death's Gambit or The Witcher 2 has no achievements whatsoever, I either wait until they implement them or just buy games like that somewhere else.

I know it's not a competition... my point was, I could've bought it on Steam or PS4, but bought it here instead because of the DRM-free... it does happen often where GOG releases don't get the achievements when they're on Steam, Xbox, PS4, etc.

I am aware it does happen often, and there is a wishlist with over 2k wishes about it. GOG's team said they'd do something about adding more achievements in the past, but it didn't seem to change that much, which is what bothers me.

Hopefully they add achievements when the content update arrives later this year.
I refuse to buy the DLC until the devs treat GOG customers with the same respect as the ones over at Steam.

Add the damn achievements!!
Why Deahts Gambit,has no Achievment?
